The masks of the Yaka people are often characterized by abstract and geometric designs that reflect their worldview and religious beliefs. The sculptures are perfectly balanced in their form, yet the facial features and hairstyle remain simple yet exquisite. The nose, slightly upturned, the deep-set eyes protruding from their sockets, the oversized ears and mouth, and the three-leaf-shaped headdress all come together harmoniously. The rounded torso of the figure is large, with bent knees supported by powerful legs, emphasizing the expressive and dynamic posture. The asymmetry of the proportions and the angular treatment of the edges further highlight the energy and liveliness of the work.
