This exhibition centers on six Makonde pregnancy masks and reintroduces the

beauty of the female body and life through the widely familiar cultural image of

“Venus.” Venus represents not only harmony of form and proportion, but also a

celebration of life, love, and creation.



When these body masks from African tribal culture enter a contemporary space, their

warm materials and concise, powerful forms engage in a quiet and elegant dialogue
