這次藉由尼巴面具（Nimba mask）是幾內亞的非洲巴嘎族（Baga people）中最具代表性的面具之一。 尼巴面具
象徵著生活的喜悅與豐收的希望。
它的主要象徵與用途包含如下：
生育與豐饒的象徵：尼巴是女性生育精神的化身，象徵大地母親，保佑村落繁衍昌盛、農作豐收。
女性力量與美的頌揚：面具強調女性的胸部和豐滿的曲線，象徵母性、滋養與生命的延續。
保護與庇佑：它也被認為能保護村落，確保社會秩序與自然的和諧。
社會與儀式用途：這類面具通常在重要的農耕慶典、收穫祭、婚禮或社會活動舞蹈中由男性舞者佩戴，用以祈求
族群繁榮。
尼巴面具（Nimba mask），源自幾內亞西部巴嘎族（Baga people）的傳統文化，是非洲藝術中最具代表性的物
件之一。它通常被製作為巨大的木雕肩荷式面具，由男性舞者於農耕、收穫、婚禮與生育等重要社會慶典中佩
戴。尼巴面具的核心象徵意義，源於對大地母親（通常稱為“Ninmba”或“D’mba”）的敬佩，視其為生育、滋養、
族群繁榮與大地豐饒的守護神。
造型特徵上，尼巴面具強調誇張的胸部、纖細的腰部與具象徵性的頭部輪廓，並不直接描繪具體的面孔，而是以
抽象化的形式展現理想化的女性美與母性力量。這類誇張的形式符號，被認為是一種象徵化的視覺語言，社會對
母性的集體想像與理想化表達。於功能層面，尼巴面具不僅是部落藝術的展現，更承載著社會結構意涵。
尼巴面具對20世紀現代藝術的影響深遠。從畢卡索（Pablo Picasso）等西方藝術家對非洲藝術的借鑒，並對現代
時尚、建築、視覺藝術形成多方面影響，尼巴面具早已成為討論「非洲性」（Africanness）、文化流動的重要標誌。

A Symbol of Fertility and Abundance
The Nimba embodies the female spirit of fertility, representing the Mother Earth who blesses the community
with prosperity and rich harvests. An Ode to Female Power and Beauty
The mask emphasizes the woman’s breasts and full curves, symbolizing motherhood, nourishment, and the
continuity of life.Protection and Blessin It is also believed to protect the village, ensuring social order and
harmony with nature. Social and Ritual Use Traditionally, these masks were worn by male dancers during
significant agricultural celebrations, harvest festivals, weddings, or communal ceremonies, as a way to invoke
the prosperity of the people.
This exhibition presents two highly representative Nimba masks, inviting you to experience up close the primal
power emerging from African soil. Step into a continuously evolving cultural context, and explore our own
