"Finding 42 Gifts" Program
Thank you to all the participants! This year, we exchanged a total of 35 artworks, and we are delighted that everyone enjoyed this special project. Each participant has experienced the satisfaction of "collecting." For the exhibition, we aim to present different visual sensations.
From this exchange process, it is interesting to see that participants exchanged works in various forms, including paintings, sculptures, photography, and more. The spirit of the exchange is not measured by monetary value, but by the different forms through which we experience the intangible inner value that carries recognition, respect, and emotion. It returns to the simple act of bartering. As economist Adam Smith (1723-1790) once said, "Before there was money, people would exchange seven chickens for a sheep, or a bag of grain for a pair of sandals."
For this year's "Finding Program" special exhibition, at the Little Salon, the exchange is about finding things that we love, with the main focus on visual pairing. We display the exchanged works separately from tribal art, creating another potential for speculation and reflection. The value emerges because of our love for these pieces. If we don’t like something, no matter how expensive, it only remains with the owner.
Little Salon is dedicated to promoting tribal art, and through this "annual finding program," we hope more people will come to appreciate tribal art. We are thrilled to have these tribal artworks exchanged into the hands of those who love them, integrating into their lives, bringing them unique inspiration and feelings.
