Committed to Exploring the Dialogue Between Contemporary Art and African Art
44 GALLERY strives to explore the possibilities of dialogue between contemporary art and African art through various collaborative exhibitions. Inspired by the "Pact x Artist – 220 Collaborative Projects" exhibition held at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum in 2013, 44 GALLERY began to consider the potential for collaboration with African art.
African art is a relatively rare field in Asia, but in European and American countries, starting from the 20th century, many renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, Constantin Brancusi, and Henri Matisse were inspired by African art, transforming it into new possibilities within their works.
Therefore, the goal is to create new linguistic possibilities and visual dialogues through the intersection of contemporary art and African art, two distinct fields.
